Kangal-er Gaan [Penniless Songs]
Subject
Description
Our final collection Kangal-er Gaan [Penniless Songs] is not a single story. It contains a series of short works or vignettes based on poems and narratives from the fifteenth century to the present day. We now move from historical tales to literary representations of dearth across time. In the scroll representations, each short work has been illustrated by a different scroll painter in the Naya team, and the nuanced changes of style are visible. The graphic versions, similarly, are illustrated by different graphic artists in their individual experimental styles. The original texts of the lyrics or narratives by historical authors have been retained. More detailed descriptions of each artwork, text, and context can be found in the individual sections on each vignette.
