Shekkhopir-deshe Durbhikkho: Summary and translations

Description

This is a Bengali summary of key historical information regarding the 1590s crisis in England. It was created as a basis from which the artists could develop their own narratives. It also incorporates Bengali translations of excerpts from historical accounts, Platt's preface and experiments in his Remedies for Famine, Shakespeare's Henry IV, and poems on famine and dearth from this period. This resource was created mainly for the scroll painters who could not read the original texts and historical records in English.
